Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice world boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
